First Love

I ne’er was struck before that hour
With love so sudden and so sweet
Her face bloomed like a sweet flower
And stole my heart away complete.
My face turned pale as deadly pale,
My legs refused to walk away,
And when she looked ‘what could I ail?’
My life and all seemed turned to clay.

And then my blood rushed to my face
And took my sight away.
The trees and bushes round the place
Seemed midnight at noonday
I could not see a single thing,
Words from my eyes did start;
They spoke as chords do from the string
And blood burnt round my heart.

Are flowers the winter’s choice?
Is love’s bed always snow?
She seemed to hear my silent voice
And love’s appeal to know.
I never saw so sweet a face
As that I stood before:
My heart has left its dwelling place
And can return no more.

Mind is a coward

The mind is a coward, and has to be a coward because it doesn't have any substance. It is empty and hollow, afraid of everything. And basically it is afraid that one day you may become aware of the truth.

'Ignorance is bliss' is absolutely right. Untill you are ignorant your life is a bliss, full of happiness. The day you become aware of the truth that blissfull life vanishes. That is the reason the people like me want to be ignorant about the happenings.

Mind is afraid to become more aware, just keep on believing what he wants to believe and what makes him happy. Knowing about the fact that nothing can happen he still wants to remain ignorant.
He is a coward.

Setting up an example by being Authentic.

In A song sung by Vani Jayaram for the Hindi film Guddi, beginning with- Hum ko mann ki shakti dena, the second line conveys a powerful message for all aspiring humanity-‘ Doosron ki jai se pehle khud ko jai karen’, meaning, “Before attempting to improve others, may we improve ourselves.”

Indeed there are many who reel out prescriptions for others when their own ills have not been resolved! In this context, the Bible conceives of the concept, “Physician heal thyself.”

There are many who volunteer to advice, criticize and suggest when they are far from being qualified to do so. In this regard the observation of Eric Hoffer is noteworthy, “It is easier to love humanity as a whole than to love one’s neighbor.” Indeed charity begins at home!!!
